OVERVIEW

A catastrophic decrease in coffee prices has left Nicaraguan families bankrupt and nearly ruined a generations-old way of life.

Mercy Corps is working with a small farmers' association in Jinotega to protect the livelihoods of families that have suffered from the coffee crisis. Through programs that concentrate on food security, economic opportunities and improved health, Mercy Corps is helping communities begin again.
