Mercy Corps accepts donations on behalf of Mukhtar Mai, the heroic Pakistani woman who's been the subject of several columns by New York Times Columnist Nick Kristof.

Nick refers to Mukhtar as his hero — "an illiterate woman who used compensation money after being gang-raped to build a small school in which she herself enrolled."
