Add your name: Support families experiencing extreme hunger in the Horn of Africa

A woman receives emergency cash assistance.
Fatima, a 26-year-old mother of three children, is receiving emergency cash assistance from Mercy Corps to buy food, water, and medical care for her children. She lost her home, crops, and animals due to recent floods in Ethiopia.

Across Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia, more than 36 million people are facing unprecedented levels of hunger due to prolonged drought.

Right now, Kenya is facing devastating floods, which have already killed over a dozen people. The compounding effects of climate change have exacerbated the already fragile conditions for families in need of food, water, and shelter.

Mercy Corps has been working in the Horn of Africa since 2004 and is currently on the ground, bringing direct assistance to families battling acute hunger from droughts and displacement from floods. We will continue to work to help families recover and strive in the face of natural disasters.

Add your name to our pledge to show your support for families needing immediate attention due to natural disasters in the Horn of Africa, and long-term assistance to families recovering from the acute level of hunger they are facing.
