Empower Entrepreneurs Worldwide
After a childhood disrupted by civil war, Cera Muchiri returned to Kenya determined to help break the cycle of poverty by providing dignified work for people left behind by the global economy. Through MicroMentor, an initiative of Mercy Corps, Cera connected with mentors who encouraged her to refine her business plan and identify customers. Today, her social enterprise, Ecodunia, extends from a workshop in Nairobi, where the fair-trade bags are made, to a flagship store in Chicago. Ecodunia’s revenue has doubled year-over-year, and Cera now oversees a team of twelve employees.
MicroMentor facilitated mentoring relationships for more than 14,300 entrepreneurs in 2023. This not only preserved over 10,000 existing jobs but also contributed to the creation of 7,900 new jobs worldwide.
Your donation will help ensure free mentorship remains accessible to entrepreneurs like Cera. Join the Small Businesses, Big Hearts Campaign and help MicroMentor reach the goal of 1 million entrepreneurs mentored by 2027. Thank you for making a donation today!
