Mercy Corps helped install a water purification system that provides between 5,700 and 9,500 liters of water per week, helping the community become more resilient.

Of the 17-25 storms expected in the Atlantic, 8 to 13 are likely to become hurricanes, according to NOAA forecasters.

Currently, Mercy Corps is ready and well-positioned to respond if a major hurricane hits Puerto Rico and Haiti this hurricane season, with 20 resilience hubs prepared in Puerto Rico standing by to respond to any disaster and support over 100,000 individuals in vulnerable communities.

But there is still so much more work to do.
