The case study highlights that community-based disaster risk reduction activities in the Kailali district have contributed to the HFA’s strategic priorities and objectives by:
- Ensuring that disaster risk reduction is a priority with a strong institutional basis for implementation
- Identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks, and carrying out early warning systems
- Supporting knowledge, education and innovation to build a culture of safety and resilience
- Reducing underlying risk factors
- Increasing preparedness for effective response and recovery
