As Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, Chad Snelgar plays a critical role in the growth, sustainability, and impact of Mercy Corps, ensuring the financial health of the organization as well as ensuring administrative functions support the organization's strategy.
He is responsible for overseeing all fiduciary and administrative responsibilities in conjunction with the Board of Directors, as well as providing effective and timely communication of critical financial information and recommendations to organizational leadership. In his role he leads Finance, Grants and Contracts, Information Technology, Technology for Development, Global Supply Chain Operations (Procurement), and the Facilities and Administration Teams.
A seasoned finance, administration, and operations leader with experience in both the private and public sectors, Chad joined Mercy Corps in 2022 from Pathfinder International, a global non-profit where he served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Treasurer.
Previously, Chad was the Global Finance Director and Deputy CFO for World Resources International. His background also includes six years with FHI 360 in positions including Associate Director Country Programs, Global Portfolio Management, and Business Manager/Deputy Director of Operations Management.
Chad has an MBA and holds dual South African and American citizenship.
