As Chief People Officer of Mercy Corps, Kim is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human capital, including talent acquisition, development, engagement, and retention. She drives organizational performance through innovative people strategies.
Kim is known for her collaborative and empathetic approach to leadership as well as building and leading teams through transformative, inclusive change.
She started her career in finance and investment banking and became the Chief Financial Officer for Teach for America. She found her true calling in global human resources and helping organizations embrace healthy and inclusive cultures. Prior to joining Mercy Corps, she served for four years as Chief People Officer (CPO) for Conservation International (CI), a global nonprofit environmental organization.
Kim also has served as a senior Human Resources (HR) consultant at Mercer HR Consulting for five years. She founded and managed Keating Advisors, a successful HR consulting firm, for eighteen years. Prior to joining CI, she was the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for the Y in Central Maryland, one of the nation’s largest YMCAs.
She has an MBA from Harvard and is a founding board member of Lean In, a nonprofit that helps women achieve their ambitions.
