Louisa Rahmani

Director, High Impact Philanthropy

Louisa Rahmani comes to Mercy Corps with over 15 years experience in advancing partnerships to accelerate social impact with partners in the United States, United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.

As a Director of High Impact Philanthropy since October 2019, she is responsible for working with Bay Area individual investors, wealth advisers, donor-advised funds and family offices to drive philanthropic giving to tackle some of the most complex and challenging problems of our time, including poverty, conflict, natural disasters, and the devastating impacts of climate change.

She brings with her a wealth of experience, including 4 years with Save the Children in the Bay Area, 11 years with the US branch of the United Nations Population Fund in New York City, and 2 years with New Jersey SEEDS, an academic enrichment program for high achieving low income students.

Louisa holds a dual Master’s degree in International Relations and Public Administration. Some of the most powerful moments in her career were seeing development programs in Yemen, Lebanon, Morocco, Malawi and Ghana. She split her childhood between Scotland and the United Arab Emirates, where her family is based. She is proud to call San Francisco home.
