Mercy Corps Welcomes Two New Board Directors
Mercy Corps is pleased to welcome two new Board Directors. Mercy Corps’ Board of Directors plays a vital role in guiding major strategic decisions and policies, while ensuring accountability and proper management.

Joining Mercy Corps’ Board of Directors:
- Thierry Tanoh has more than 32 years of financial investment, banking, and senior government experience worldwide. He is an independent board member for various companies and institutions, including the Azalai Hotel Group, the largest African-owned hotel chain in West Africa; a member of the Africa Advisory Council of the Groupe Duval, a French construction and micro-finance group; and Co-Chair of the Advisory Council of the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Previously, Thierry was the CEO of Pan-African Bank, Ecobank Group, and spent 18 years at the International Finance Corporation. He was recently appointed to the President’s Council on International Affairs at Yale University. Thierry graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce d'Abidjan in Cote d’Ivoire and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
- Stanley Wanyoike Njoroge is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia P.LC, the first privately owned operator to provide telecommunications and digital financial services in Ethiopia. Prior to Safaricom, Stanley spent 13 years in various senior finance roles with Diageo, in Kenya, Indonesia, Ethiopia and Nigeria, and worked at then Barclays Bank Kenya (now Absa Kenya). He started his finance career at Deloitte & Touche in Kenya and Uganda in tax consultancy. Stanley is a Bachelor of Pharmacy graduate of University of Nairobi and a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.
