Hetal Patel is Director of Investments for Mercy Corps Ventures, leveraging 15+ years of experience in investing, consulting, and entrepreneurial experience across Asia, Africa, and LatAm markets.

Hetal has participated in 20+ deals in emerging markets, is on the board of several portfolio companies, and is an advisor to numerous others. He is actively engaged in various groups with leading Africa Fund Managers, collaborating on market trends, valuations, and an efficient path to exits and impact. He brings extensive experience in Agtech, Web3, and Fintech.

Hetal’s initial foray into the impact space was as Director of a Skoll-winning social enterprise, managing and delivering 30% year-on-year growth. Prior to joining Mercy Corps Ventures, he advised DFIs in Strategy and Innovation and startups to achieve scalable growth. Early in his career, Hetal worked in leading financial services firms in New York City. He studied Philosophy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and has lived in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, India, Indonesia, the UK, and is currently based in Nairobi.
