The Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance
Mercy Corps is proud to be a member of the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance – a partnership of nine organisations from both the public and private sectors, with a shared vision of a world where communities are resilient to climate hazards, enabling them to thrive.
Formerly the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance, to date the partnership has beneficially impacted the lives of over 3 million people and influenced an increase in resilience spending of more than 1.25 billion USD.
Mercy Corps currently runs Alliance programmes in Indonesia, Jordan, and Nepal – each tailored to their specific context. We also lead the Alliance’s influencing efforts, and work with other members as part of a highly collaborative process rooted in shared learning, common tools and approaches, and collective action.
By 2035, alongside like-minded organizations, the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance aspires to positively impact 70 million people vulnerable to climate change. We will deliver this substantial increase in ambition through an intentional focus on scalable activities and systems change, coupled with innovative ways to assess the uptake and scaling of those activities by other stakeholders.
