Conflict Sensitivity Training Course
Aid workers engage with diverse communities all over the world, with different demographics, languages, religions and cultures. But we all have one universal thing in common: conflict. Whether it’s two neighbors arguing over a fence or countries waging war over resources, conflict exists in every corner of the globe and in every community.
If we want our presence to decrease - rather than increase - tensions within a community, we need to be sensitive to conflict and adapt our approach accordingly. Therefore, Mercy Corps and CDA Collaborative Learning developed a conflict sensitivity training course and toolkit. The course and toolkit provide key information and practical strategies for incorporating conflict sensitivity into aid work at both the strategic program level and in day-to-day interactions with program participants.
The training course and toolkit have a number of different components:
- A short online course that you can take alone or in a group (English, French)
- Materials for in-depth group training workshops that can be organized online or in-person:
- Materials for training Implementation Staff (English, French)
- Materials for training Management and Support Staff (English, French)
- Guidelines for conducting Community Town Hall Forums
- A toolkit (English, French) with resources that you can use to plan and implement a conflict sensitive aid program
